![]() ![]() “A Great Idea Bastardised” harks back to the opening track and contrasts mind-boggling riffs with the welcome simplicity of some punk-rock head banging opportunities. “Whorepaedo” takes things up a notch with its frantic bass intro and The Chariot-esque feedback-drenched middle section, before closing with a spine-tingling, angst-filled refrain of the lyric: “You’re all whores and I’m Jack The Ripper”. This is followed up nicely by the thirty-six seconds of noise that goes by the name of “Trogloraptor” yes it is just as brilliant as the title suggests. Opening track “A Good Idea Realised” is as much a master class in how to grab everyone’s attention as it is in technical riffery. Thankfully this is not the case for Baby Godzilla on their latest EP “Knockout Machine”, which successfully captures their unpredictable attraction and highlights just how scarily tight they are as a band. ![]() Such disarray when captured and condensed into a measly MP3 file can more than often lose its charm. Provide Baby Godzilla with the means to perform live (basically anywhere with electricity, and preferably alcohol) and pure chaos will unfold beautiful, insane, explosive chaos, hitting you in the face with the force of a wrecking ball and leaving you for dead in a mass of jagged riffs, bone-crushing screams and hardcore brilliance. ![]()
